Cangzhou Technical College

Cangzhou technical college，as a comprehensive state-run full-time higher vocational college authorized by Hebei Province in 2000, is located in Cangzhou City of Hebei Province—the third Chemical City in China. The college , whose predecessor was set up in 1958, has been developed for more than 50 years with distinct guidelines for college-management , advanced college-management concept, exact college-management orientation, bright college-management features, excellent campus culture and dense academic atmosphere.

The campus occupies 1120 mu ,as well as 200 mu for future teaching development, with construction area 180,000 M2. The college has such superior teaching and scientific research atmosphere as high standard training centers, training bases and vocational skills certification station authorized by higher-level departments ,among which Bases of Chemical Application and Chemical Pharmaceutical Technology are “ National Modal Bases of Vocational Education and Training in Oil and Chemical Industry”, which guarantee to train skilled talents with high qualification for Alternation of Learning & Work and Integrated System of Production, Teaching and Research. Its campus network is advanced and fully functional with 1200 computers. It also has modern multi-media classrooms and multi-media language labs with more than 3600 seats.

The college has abundant teacher resources of 574 staff, among which 298 are full-time teachers and 169 associate professors or professors, 84% double-quality teachers, 86 researchers ( 17 researchers and 17 associate-researchers), 4 experts with national allowance, 1 provincial superexcellent expert, 4 young experts with great contribution to Hebei province, 19 city professional top-notch personnel. The college can enroll students from 15 provinces with 8000 full-time students at school. In recent years, the average employment rate is above 92%.

There are 10 departments, 3 divisions and 1 academy in the college: Department of Mechanical Engineering, Department of Electrical Engineering, Department of Information Engineering, Department of Management of Economy and Trade, Department of Modem Services Management, Department of Chemical Industry Engineering, Department of Urban and Rural Construction Engineering, Department of Husbandry and Veterinary, Department of Foreign Language and Art Design, Department of Food and biological Engineering, Division of Basic Courses, Division of Education Development, Division of International Education Exchange and Academy of Agricultural and Forest Sciences with 34 majors and provincial model major and provincial excellent courses, which forms a major-group whose main line is mechanical electricity and husbandry – veterinary with inter-courses like construction engineering, biology, information and economic trade covering industry, agriculture, economy, management, literary and science with clear features of higher vocational education. The college has an active international cooperation . In 2005 , the college began cooperation with Ukraine National Pedagogical University with 476 students in this project now. In 2009, the first graduates of this project finished their schooling successfully which made this project more influential. In 2009, the college started new international cooperation ,such as the fine students graduating from the college going to Germany for postgraduate education ( free of tuition fee); “2+3” master project in Psychology with Poland; “2+2” regular college in architecture and economics with Poland；cooperation in vehicle-maintenance and flight stewards with Korea. All these internatinal cooperations provide a way for the students from three-year-college to four-year-college to graduate school also a way to go abroad.

The key scientific research academic of the college-- Academy of Agricultural and Forest Sciences was founded in 1955 as an important regional scientific research academic in agriculture for Helonggang basin ,which has been undertaking provincial research especially national scientific research---Research on Breed-selection and Germplasm Enhancement of Salt-tolerance Plants in Low Plain Area around Bohai. It is scarce for this city academic to take charge of national scientific research. Since its foundation, this academic has taken charge of 62 provincial scientific projects , 51 city scientific projects with 948 essays and 128 textbooks.
