My Experience of Applying for Scholarships in China
Hello! I am an international student from Liberia. In the autumn of 2018, I successfully applied for a China scholarship at ScholarshipChina. Scholarship applications are not easy because they require certain qualifications to fulfill all requirements. I am going to study electronic information engineering at Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology. This is news that I am very excited about. I'm lucky to be studying in China and want to share my experience with you.
Electronic Information Engineering in Nanjing
BEFORE APPLYING FOR A SCHOLARSHIP
At the beginning, I was looking for help from Google. I found a lot of pages about China scholarships and found that the information was not timely and not suitable for me. In the end, I found the SchoolshipChina. It has a lot of exciting college scholarships to help me study at a Chinese university at a low cost and high success rate.
After that, I consulted the consultant of ScholarshipChina how can I apply for a Chinese university. The consultant's attitude is very friendly. Not only did she tell me how to apply for a scholarship on the website, but she also recommended some programs for Liberian students. I am very happy to meet her and have the opportunity to study in China.
CHOOSE A SCHOLARSHIP
ScholarshipChina has a large number of majors and scholarships to choose from. You need to read the information on scholarship list carefully, including age restrictions, scholarship amounts, tuition fees, accommodation fees and nationality restrictions. I like engineering, which is a rapidly developing discipline in China. In Chinese cities, I tend to Nanjing. In the end, I found the electronic information engineering with a scholarship of Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology, a course that is very suitable for me. I am looking forward to studying engineering in China.
SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION
The consultant told me that the detailed application steps are on the home page and the major page. I logged into ScholarshipChina, downloaded the application form and filled in the relevant information. It lists all the requirements and the forms to be filled out.
Address information is important. I need to map the address to the street, preferably the house number. When filling out the educational background, I started from the high school education background and strictly followed the form of YYMM-YYMM. The time points must be separate and accurate. Complete family member information is also essential for my application for a Chinese scholarship. Finally, passports are valid for more than one year.
PREPARATION FOR DOCUMENTS
After filling out the necessary information, I need to prepare the attachment. There are many attachments that need to be prepared, such as a university application form, a copy of the valid passport, passport size photo, highest education and transcript (notarized), physical examination form, non-criminal record. More accurate information can be found on the major details page. The preparation of these documents does not require complicated procedures.
WAITING
After submitting the application form, application fee and attachment, I started waiting for reply to my application. This is a long process. I tell you guys firstly. Chinese university admission comes out in 2 weeks generally. When they had not contacted me in mid-July, I thought my application was not considered. Finally, they messaged me at the end of July to tell me a scholarship that I have got the admission. I paid a registration fee to the school to process JW202. When jw202 come out four weeks later after admission, I finally realized that my dream of studying in China came ture.
The consultant of ScholarshipChina told me that I had two chances to apply for a Chinese university after submitting the application fee, even if I failed. This is an exciting measure to increase the chances of successfully applying to a Chinese university. Fortunately, the first time I applied, I succeeded.
APPLY FOR A CHINA STUDY VISA
I didn't know how to apply for a China visa before coming to China. After consulting the Chinese Embassy and the Chinese Consulate, I applied for a student visa. All foreign students should apply for a student visa. In fact, there are two types of Chinese student visas: X1 and X2. X1 is issued to students who have studied in China for more than 6 months. X2 is issued to those who go to China for the same purpose but less than 6 months. X1 visas are usually issued multiple times and are valid for up to 5 years.
I need to have an X1 visa to register with the local public security bureau within 30 days of arrival and issue a Chinese residence permit to replace the X1 visa. I can't wait to come to China.
THE END
After inquiring about the main campus of Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology on the Internet, I ordered the ticket. By the way, many universities in China have branch campuses, and you need to check them carefully. ScholarshipChina is an online global application platform for international students to study in China. They helped me a lot. All the process including scholarship application, visa application, pick-up, you can feel that they care about you, and I appreciated that. I did not expect that I had successfully attended the Chinese university. I hope that you will be the next lucky guy.
