Accommodation in China
In recent years, a large number of foreigners have come to China, and when looking for places to stay in China, you will find many choices. Although China's tourism industry is relatively a fledgling industry, it is rapidly becoming one of the world's top tourism markets for domestic and international travelers.
With the development of China's tourism industry, new accommodations can be seen everywhere. No matter what your budget, you can find your satisfaction.
We have compiled some accommodation guides that will let you know about the different types of accommodation and their prices. There are mainly Chinese accommodations, apartments, youth hostels and vacation rentals in China. Below we will introduce.
Like international hotels, Chinese hotels are also ranked according to the standards promulgated by the China National Tourism Administration.
The standards of Chinese hotels may not be the same as those of international hotels. As you travel around the country, you will find different standards in each city. As the hotel industry continues to grow and travellers' expectations and needs increase, these gaps are narrowing. The location within the city and city has a lots to do with the standards and prices of the hotel, and the time and season of travel can affect the cost of accommodation.
1. Budget hotel (one or two stars)
China's one-star or two-star hotels are cost-effective and low-cost.
Foreign friends have language communication barriers, staff members do not speak foreign languages, and one-star and two-star rooms do not have separate bathrooms. Budget hotels in Chinese cities are often close to train stations and bus stations
2. medium-sized tourist and business class hotels
These hotels are often three-star. Hotel facilities are better than budget hotels. The hotel has a restaurant and some staff can speak basic English.
Its guests are business guests and tourists. The business hotel is based on business location, hotel facilities, prices, etc., as far as possible to provide convenience for guests. Business hotels are mainly located in the heart of the city, in a more prosperous area. Related business facilities must be fully equipped, such as Internet broadband.
In the mid-range hotel budget, you need to pay in advance and a deposit is required. You must keep a deposit receipt and get your deposit back at check-out.
3. Chinese boutique and luxury hotels
These are usually rated as four or five-star hotels in China. Luxury hotels in China are often found in some economically good cities such as Beijing and Shanghai. The luxury hotel offers fine Chinese and Western cuisine, a health club and a swimming pool to meet your entertainment needs. Their staff is very professional and the service is very good, which will make you feel very enjoyable.
Notes:
When you check in, please remember to pick up the hotel's business card. As a foreigner, you don't know the locals and don't know the road. You may not know the address of the hotel after you go out. The hotel's business card has their address and sometimes a small map. It's too easy to get lost while walking, so you can use it to ask directions (and tell your taxi driver)
As a foreigner, you will need to show your passport and fill out the registration form when you check in.
All hotels have a 24-hour front desk, luggage storage and wake up service. The luxury hotel also offers currency exchange and ATM services in the foyer.
Chinese hotels are quite safe and we recommend that you do not leave money or valuables in your room. You'd better carry it with you.
Chinese New Year, Mid-Autumn Festival, the first week of October and the first week of May, hotel prices may be higher. During this time, all public transportation and public areas in China are very crowded. If you want to play comfortably in China, please avoid these days.
APARTMENT/VACATION RENTALS
For some foreign travelers, an apartment or vacation rental in China may be a good choice. These are usually apartments or homes that are rented by the owner to others.
If you are staying in China for a long time working or studying, apartments or rentals may be more appropriate, and its cost will be lower than any other accommodation. It is fully equipped and is the same as your home. You can cook for yourself and wash your own clothes. You have your own private space and don't feel disturbed. You will feel very free.
