Dazhou Heshi Airport is located 12 kilometers (7.5 miles) southwest of downtown Dazhou. It is the only lateral airport in northeastern Sichuan. It operates shuttle flights to and from Guangzhou and Chengdu. In addition, there are connecting flights available. In the airport, passengers can get air tickets of connecting flights to as many as twenty-six cities in China with Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport as transfer station.
Through the expressway, Chongqing and Chengdu can be reached from Dazhou in two and four hours respectively. From the Jinsi Jie in Nanwai Town of Tongchuan District, buses to Chengdu and Chongqing will depart every an hour.

1、 Dengying jerky
Dengying jerky is a signature Sichuan beef jerky snack, which originated in the Da County area about 100 years ago. Traditionally it's made of buffalo meat, yellow cattle meat or yak meat, which is seasoned with lots of Sichuan peppercorns and mixed spices. The major difference between the quite glossy dengying beef jerky and regular jerky is its crispy texture. The jerky is so thin that the light of a lamp can shine through a slice. Hence the name dengying, which translates into "the shadow of a lamp."
