Shaoxing – Shaoxing has long been a hotbed of Chinese cultural activity.

Shaoxing does not have its own airport. The nearest airport is Xiaoshan International Airport (HGH), which is about 30 kilometers (18.6 miles) away in Hangzhou. Arriving at this airport, you could then take the shuttle bus to Shaoxing. What's more, there are daily flights to Chinese cities like Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Guangzhou, Macau and Guilin. International flights to Seoul, Tokyo, Osaka, Singapore and Bangkok are also available.

With its subtropical monsoon climate, Shaoxing weather is warm and moist with four distinct seasons. The average annual temperature is 16.5 C (61.7F). The highest temperature is usually in July and the highest record is 39.5C (103.1F), while the lowest temperature is -10.1C (13.82F) in January. The region has heavy rainfall through two rainy seasons: one during March to June and the other during September. In the rainy seasons, the climate is usually humid and hot. During April and May, although still in the rainy season, the weather is comfortable.

Xishi Bean Curd consists of snow-white and tender bean curd and ingredients of top grade, which are braised with bree. With delicious soup and strong flavor, it is smooth and tasty with bright color. As a kind of skilly, Xishi Bean Curd takes the bean curd as its major material. It is popular in Zhuji and thereabout and having a long history. Since Zhuji is the hometown of Xishi, people named the dish after her and also call it "Meat Bean Curd"

Anchang Ancient Town, in the northwest part of Shaoxing County. is a famous ancient town in Shaoxing. Like Zhouzhuang and Tongli, Anchang is a typical waterlogged town, more serene and picturesque than the others. The mile long slates paved old street makes this town an important commercial center and markets in history. The street is along the north bank of a river, parallel to residence on the south bank. There are seventeen stone bridges all presented in different styles. They all have their own stories.
